Help & Support

How can we help?

Answers to common questions about SunLah — Singapore weather, air quality, and getting around — plus how to reach us.

Last updated: 19 June 2026 · App version 1.1

01 Getting started

SunLah shows you Singapore's weather, UV, air quality, and getting-around information for the next few hours — drawn straight from Singapore's open government data. There's no account to create: open the app and you're in.

The four tabs are Today (right-now weather and a "should I go outside?" score), Forecast (the days ahead), Air (PSI and haze by region), and Around (live taxis, carparks, and traffic cameras near you).

02 Location & weather

Why don't I see weather for my exact area?

SunLah matches your live location to one of Singapore's NEA forecast areas. If you haven't granted location permission, it shows data for central Singapore instead and displays a "Grant location" prompt on the Today tab.

To enable it: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → SunLah → While Using the App. The app picks up the change automatically the next time you open or refresh it.

I granted location but it's still showing central Singapore.

Pull down to refresh the Today tab, or reopen the app. If your device's Location Services are switched off entirely, turn them on in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

03 Notifications

I'm not receiving rain, UV, or haze alerts.

Alerts are opt-in per type. Open Settings (gear icon) → Alerts in the app and turn on the ones you want.

Also make sure notifications are allowed for SunLah on your device: iPhone Settings → Notifications → SunLah → Allow Notifications.

How often do alerts arrive?

Only when conditions actually change — rain expected in the next couple of hours, a high UV reading, or air quality entering the unhealthy range. There are no marketing or promotional notifications.

04 Data & accuracy

The numbers look out of date or different from another app.

All readings come directly from Singapore's open data (data.gov.sg) and live transport feeds (LTA DataMall). They can occasionally be delayed or briefly unavailable at the source. Pull to refresh to fetch the latest; if a section is temporarily empty, the source is between updates.

Is this an official government or NEA app?

No. SunLah is an independent product. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Singapore or any of its agencies — it simply presents publicly available open data.

Please don't rely on SunLah for safety-critical decisions. Weather, air-quality, and traffic information is provided "as is" for general guidance and may be delayed or incomplete.

05 Privacy & accounts

Do I need an account?

No. All core features work without signing in.

What happens to my location?

It's used only to find your weather area and nearby taxis. We don't store it on our servers and we never sell it. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Which languages and devices are supported?

English and Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese). The app follows your device language and can be overridden in the app's Settings. SunLah runs on iPhone with a recent version of iOS.
